Returning from LV-426, Ellen Ripley crash-lands on the maximum-security prison Fiorina 161, where she discovers that she has unwittingly brought along an unwelcome visitor.
“Alien³” is a science-fiction horror film released in 1992, directed by David Fincher and starring Sigourney Weaver, Charles Dance, and Charles S. Dutton. It is the third installment in the “Alien” film franchise, following “Alien” (1979) and “Aliens” (1986).
The movie is set immediately after the events of “Aliens,” and begins with Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) crash-landing on a remote prison planet inhabited by male convicts. She is the only survivor of her crew, along with an alien queen that was secretly onboard her escape pod. The alien soon begins to kill off the prisoners one by one, and Ripley, along with a small group of survivors, must try to find a way to destroy the creature before it can escape the planet and threaten other worlds.
“Alien³” received mixed reviews upon its release, with some critics praising the film’s dark, nihilistic tone and Fincher’s direction, while others criticized the movie for its lack of character development and reliance on shock value. The film has since gained a cult following among fans of the franchise.
