“Amélie” is a French romantic comedy film released in 2001. The movie, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, tells the story of Amélie Poulain, a young woman who decides to bring happiness to the people around her while struggling with her own isolation and shyness. The film received critical acclaim and was a box office success in France and internationally, becoming a cult classic. It stars Audrey Tautou as Amélie, Mathieu Kassovitz, Rufus, and Jamel Debbouze in supporting roles. The movie was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Foreign Language Film, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography.
