Boss Level is a 2020 science fiction action film directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Frank Grillo, Naomi Watts, and Mel Gibson. The movie follows retired special forces soldier Roy Pulver (Grillo), who finds himself trapped in a time loop that restarts every time he dies.
As Pulver tries to figure out what’s going on and how to escape the loop, he must battle his way through a seemingly endless army of assassins, led by the ruthless Colonel Clive Ventor (Gibson). Along the way, Pulver also reconnects with his ex-wife Jemma Wells (Watts) and learns the truth behind his predicament.
Boss Level received generally positive reviews for its high-energy action sequences and Grillo’s performance. However, some critics noted that the movie relied heavily on genre conventions and may not offer much that’s new for fans of the time loop and action subgenres.
