“Face/Off” is a 1997 action thriller film directed by John Woo and starring John Travolta and Nicolas Cage. The movie tells the story of an FBI agent named Sean Archer (played by Travolta) who undergoes a revolutionary surgical procedure to take on the face and identity of his sworn enemy, terrorist-for-hire Castor Troy (played by Cage), in order to stop a bomb from detonating in Los Angeles.

However, when Castor awakens from a coma and learns of the switch, he takes on Archer’s face and life, leading to a dangerous game of cat and mouse between the two men. The film received positive reviews for its action sequences, performances, and direction, and was a box office success.
