“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” is a 2002 British-American fantasy film directed by Chris Columbus and based on the novel of the same name by J.K. Rowling. The film is a sequel to the 2001 film “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” and the second installment in the Harry Potter film series. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger, and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley. The story follows Harry as he returns to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for his second year and discovers a mysterious chamber hidden within the school, guarded by a deadly creature. With the help of his friends and the guidance of headmaster Dumbledore, Harry must uncover the truth behind the chamber and stop the creature before it can harm any of his fellow students. The film was a commercial and critical success, grossing over $879 million worldwide and receiving generally positive reviews from critics.
