“Kill Bill: Vol. 2” is a 2004 American martial arts film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. It is the second volume in the “Kill Bill” series, following “Kill Bill: Vol. 1” released in 2003.
The film continues the story of The Bride (played by Uma Thurman), a former assassin who seeks revenge against her former lover and boss Bill (played by David Carradine) and his deadly team of assassins. Unlike the first film, which was focused on The Bride’s quest for revenge against her former colleagues, “Kill Bill: Vol. 2” delves more into her backstory and personal life.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, and Lucy Liu, who all reprise their roles from the first film. It also introduces new characters, such as Bill’s brother Budd (played by Michael Madsen) and Elle Driver (played by Daryl Hannah).
“Kill Bill: Vol. 2” received critical acclaim for its storytelling, performances, and direction. It was nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Uma Thurman, and won the Saturn Award for Best Actress for Thurman’s performance. The film was also a commercial success, grossing over $152 million worldwide.
