“Life Is Beautiful” is a 1997 Italian film directed by and starring Roberto Benigni. The film tells the story of a Jewish father who uses his imagination to shield his young son from the reality of their internment in a Nazi concentration camp during World War II. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival, and was a commercial success. Benigni also won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film.
