“Los Bandoleros” is a short film directed by Vin Diesel that serves as a prequel to the 2001 action film “The Fast and the Furious”. It was released in 2009 and has a runtime of approximately 20 minutes.
The film takes place in the Dominican Republic and follows the character of Dominic Toretto (played by Vin Diesel) as he reunites with his old crew, including his girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Han (Sung Kang), and Leo and Santos (Tego Calderón and Don Omar). The group plans to hijack a fuel tanker, but soon find themselves involved in a bigger heist involving drug money.
“Los Bandoleros” explores the backstory of the characters and sets up the events leading up to the beginning of “Fast & Furious”, the fourth installment in the franchise. The film also features appearances by other characters from the series, including Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster).
