Mission: Impossible II is a 2000 American action spy film directed by John Woo and starring Tom Cruise, Dougray Scott, Thandie Newton, and Ving Rhames. It is the second installment in the Mission: Impossible film series, and a sequel to the 1996 film Mission: Impossible.

In the movie, Tom Cruise reprises his role as Ethan Hunt, an IMF agent who must stop a deadly virus from falling into the wrong hands. He is joined by Nyah Nordoff-Hall (Thandie Newton), a skilled thief who becomes involved in the mission. However, they soon discover that they are up against Sean Ambrose (Dougray Scott), a former IMF agent who has gone rogue and is determined to use the virus as a weapon.

The movie features many high-octane action scenes, including a motorcycle chase through the streets of Spain and a climactic fight atop a cliffside fortress in Australia. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $546 million worldwide, and received mixed reviews from critics.
