A historian races to find the legendary Templar Treasure before a team of mercenaries.
“National Treasure” is a 2004 adventure film directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, and Justin Bartha. The movie follows Benjamin Franklin Gates (played by Nicolas Cage), a historian and treasure hunter who is searching for a hidden treasure that was supposedly hidden by the Founding Fathers of the United States.
The movie is filled with clues and puzzles, as Benjamin and his team search for the treasure that is said to be guarded by a series of elaborate traps and secrets. Along the way, they encounter a number of obstacles, including a rival treasure hunter (played by Sean Bean) who is also searching for the treasure.
“National Treasure” was a commercial success, grossing over $347 million worldwide. It was followed by a sequel, “National Treasure: Book of Secrets,” in 2007.
