Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat.
“Pacific Rim: Uprising” is a 2018 science-fiction action movie directed by Steven S. DeKnight and a sequel to the 2013 film “Pacific Rim.” The movie takes place 10 years after the events of the first film and follows the story of Jake Pentecost, the son of Stacker Pentecost from the original movie, who teams up with a group of young Jaeger pilots to stop a new Kaiju threat.
In the movie, the Jaegers, giant robots controlled by two pilots through a neural bridge, are upgraded with new technology to be more efficient in combat. However, a rogue Jaeger program led by a mysterious figure named Obsidian Fury threatens to cause chaos and destruction. Meanwhile, Jake Pentecost, who was once a Jaeger pilot but left the program, is drawn back into the fight against the Kaiju threat.
The movie stars John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, Scott Eastwood as Nate Lambert, and Cailee Spaeny as Amara Namani, among others. “Pacific Rim: Uprising” received mixed reviews from critics and fans but performed well at the box office, grossing over $290 million worldwide.
