“Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” is a fantasy action-adventure film released in 2017. It is the fifth installment in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series and was directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg.
The film features Johnny Depp reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, who must face off against the undead pirate Captain Salazar, played by Javier Bardem. Geoffrey Rush also returns as Captain Barbossa, along with new cast members Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario as Henry Turner and Carina Smyth, respectively.
The plot follows Jack Sparrow as he searches for the Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that could grant its wielder control over the seas. Along the way, he is pursued by Captain Salazar and his crew of ghostly sailors, who are seeking revenge against Jack for their imprisonment in the Devil’s Triangle.
The film received mixed reviews from critics, but was a box office success, grossing over $794 million worldwide.
