“Prisoners” is a 2013 thriller movie directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Aaron Guzikowski. The movie follows Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), a devout and desperate father, who takes matters into his own hands after his young daughter and her friend go missing. When the police investigation led by Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) fails to find any leads, Keller decides to kidnap and torture a man he believes is responsible for the abduction.

As the investigation progresses, the movie delves deeper into the psychological toll that the search for the missing girls takes on both Keller and Detective Loki. The cast also includes Terrence Howard, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano.
