Rocky Balboa is a 2006 American sports drama film written, directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone. It is the sixth installment in the Rocky franchise and follows retired boxer Rocky Balboa as he comes out of retirement to fight a current champion in a special exhibition match.

In the film, Rocky is now a widower and runs a small Italian restaurant in Philadelphia. He feels unfulfilled and misses the thrill of boxing, but also has doubts about his ability to fight again at his age. However, when a computer simulation shows that he could have beaten the current champion, Mason “The Line” Dixon, in his prime, Rocky decides to challenge Dixon to a fight.

The film received generally positive reviews and was praised for its heartfelt story and Stallone’s performance. It grossed over $155 million worldwide and was followed by the spin-off films Creed (2015) and Creed II (2018), which focus on a new generation of boxers mentored by Rocky.
