“Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith” is a science fiction film released in 2005, and is the third installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Directed by George Lucas, the film explores the rise of Darth Vader and the fall of the Galactic Republic. The film is set three years after the start of the Clone Wars, and the Jedi Order is on the brink of defeat. As the Jedi Knights try to defend the Republic, Anakin Skywalker begins to succumb to the dark side of the Force, leading to a final showdown between the Jedi and the Sith. The film stars Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Ian McDiarmid as the evil Emperor Palpatine. “Revenge of the Sith” received generally positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success, grossing over $848 million worldwide.
