“Sully” is a 2016 American biographical drama film directed by Clint Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks as Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who became a hero after successfully landing US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River in New York City on January 15, 2009, saving the lives of all 155 passengers and crew on board. The film focuses on the investigation that followed the incident, as Sully and his co-pilot Jeff Skiles (played by Aaron Eckhart) face scrutiny from the National Transportation Safety Board. The film was well-received by critics and was a commercial success.
