General information
“Terminator: Dark Fate” is a science fiction action movie released in 2019, directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron. It is the sixth installment in the Terminator film series and serves as a direct sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991), ignoring the events of the other sequels that followed.
The movie features Linda Hamilton, reprising her role as Sarah Connor, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, returning as the T-800 “Model 101” Terminator. It also introduces new characters, including Grace (Mackenzie Davis), an enhanced human with cybernetic implants, and Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes), a young woman targeted by a new type of Terminator called the Rev-9 (Gabriel Luna).
The story takes place in 2020, 27 years after the events of “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” where a new, more advanced Terminator is sent back in time to terminate Dani Ramos. Sarah Connor and the T-800 join forces with Grace to protect Dani and prevent the Rev-9 from altering the future.
The movie received mixed reviews from critics and was a box office disappointment, grossing less than its production budget. Despite this, it was praised for its action sequences, visual effects, and the performances of Hamilton and Schwarzenegger.
