“Terminator Genisys” is a science-fiction action movie released in 2015. It is the fifth installment in the “Terminator” film series, directed by Alan Taylor and produced by David Ellison and Dana Goldberg.

The movie stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, and Lee Byung-hun. The story takes place in an alternate timeline where John Connor, the leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends his trusted lieutenant Kyle Reese back in time to protect his mother Sarah Connor from a Terminator assassin. However, when Kyle arrives in the past, he discovers that the timeline has been altered, and Sarah is already being protected by a reprogrammed Terminator, played by Schwarzenegger. Together, the trio must work to stop a new, advanced version of Skynet from initiating Judgment Day and wiping out humanity.

The movie received mixed reviews from critics and audiences and was a modest box office success. Despite plans for sequels, the franchise was put on hold after the underperformance of “Genisys.”
