“The Living Daylights” is a James Bond film released in 1987, directed by John Glen and starring Timothy Dalton as James Bond. The movie is based on the short story “The Living Daylights” by Ian Fleming.

In the film, Bond is sent to aid in the defection of a KGB agent, General Georgi Koskov, who claims that he has been targeted for assassination by his own organization. Bond’s mission takes him to Vienna, where he meets and falls in love with a cellist named Kara Milovy, who is also caught up in the defection.

However, Bond soon discovers that Koskov’s defection is part of a larger conspiracy involving a rogue KGB agent named Brad Whitaker, who is planning to use stolen Soviet military hardware to launch a war between the United States and the Soviet Union.

With the help of Kara, Bond must stop Whitaker and his accomplices before they can carry out their deadly plan. The movie features a number of thrilling action sequences, including a chase through the streets of Vienna and a climactic battle on an Afghan airbase.

“The Living Daylights” was generally well-received by critics and audiences, with many praising Dalton’s performance as Bond and the film’s mix of action and espionage. It was also the first Bond film to feature a new actor in the role since the departure of Roger Moore, who had played Bond in the previous seven films.
