“The Platform” is a Spanish sci-fi horror film that was released in 2019. It’s set in a prison where the inmates are held in a tower-style building, with each floor having access to food that is served through a hole in the floor. The food platform descends through each floor, with those on higher levels having the opportunity to eat more before it reaches the lower levels. The film explores themes of class division and social inequality, and has been praised for its unique concept and thought-provoking commentary.
