“The Suicide Squad” is a 2021 superhero film directed by James Gunn and based on the DC Comics team of the same name. The movie is a soft reboot of the previous “Suicide Squad” film released in 2016, with a new storyline and characters.
The plot follows a group of imprisoned supervillains, including Harley Quinn, Bloodsport, Peacemaker, and King Shark, who are recruited by Amanda Waller to carry out a dangerous mission on the island of Corto Maltese. Their mission is to destroy a secret laboratory that houses a powerful weapon known as “Project Starfish.”
Overall, “The Suicide Squad” is a fun and entertaining movie that does justice to its source material. The film features a talented cast that delivers excellent performances, particularly Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Idris Elba as Bloodsport. The action sequences are well-choreographed and visually stunning, with plenty of over-the-top violence and gore.
However, the movie does have some flaws, particularly in its pacing and storytelling. The first act of the film feels a bit rushed, and the plot can be a bit convoluted at times. Additionally, some characters are underutilized, and their arcs feel incomplete.
