Toy Story 2 is a computer-animated comedy film released in 1999, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by John Lasseter. The movie is the second installment in the Toy Story franchise, following the adventures of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their toy friends.
In Toy Story 2, Woody is stolen by a toy collector, Al, who plans to sell him to a museum in Japan. Buzz and the other toys set out to rescue Woody and bring him back to Andy’s room. Along the way, Woody discovers that he is a rare collectible and is faced with a difficult decision about his future.
The movie features the voices of Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, and Joan Cusack as Jessie, a new toy introduced in the film. Toy Story 2 was a critical and commercial success, grossing over $485 million worldwide and receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song.
