“Wonder” is a 2017 American drama film directed by Stephen Chbosky and starring Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, and Owen Wilson. The movie is based on the 2012 novel of the same name by R.J. Palacio.
The film follows the story of August “Auggie” Pullman, a young boy with facial differences who starts attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. The movie explores the challenges Auggie faces as he tries to fit in with his classmates and overcome the bullying and discrimination he experiences because of his appearance. The movie also touches on the struggles of Auggie’s family as they support him through his journey.
“Wonder” received positive reviews from critics for its heartwarming story and strong performances from its cast. It was a commercial success, grossing over $305 million worldwide against its $20 million budget.
